Super cheap and super easy. the only thing is it can be a little time consuming if you are working alone. I suggest waiting until you have a few hours free on a lazy Sunday or involve the family and work on a production line.

Swine Dining

Thanks to Suzanne for the recipe name suggestion

This is another really tasty family meal that you'll be able get others involved to help make, If you want or need.
Kids of any age can help put together the sauce, Depending on their age your older can can help peel and chop the vegies but only under supervision. Basically everything to do with the meat preparation will need to be done by an adult. as you be using a sharp knife and hot pans. Pork is notorious for spitting while it fries so be prepared (so don't use too much oil, you don't want any big splashes)
Based on the variation we used tonight I have spent about $2 per serve. Click here if you want to see our cost breakdown.
In an ideal world you would Boil them for an hour and then bake in the oven for a further 5-6 hours for tender pork ribs, but I have managed to reduce the time down to about 2 hours will maintaining a really tender, juicy meat. You could always drop this time even further by basically just frying the pork over a high heat until cooked through, but this will give you a dry, tough piece of meat. and I wouldn't sacrifice that time.

Recession Ravioli

So we're all stuck on a bit of a budget these days, but that doesn't mean you can't still have good food to fill the table & keep the family satisfied without getting into major debt.

After a few modifications I've managed to do a nice cheap knock off of Ravioli, which not only serves 4 hungry bellies, but only costs around $3 in total.
